Management Team

Mineral & Coal Investments Colin Randall, Consultant Colin is a graduate mining engineer with over 40 years experience in management and operation of open cut and underground coal mines and as well as in the exploration and development of new coal mines. He has a wide experience in all the aspects of coal transport and infrastructure required to bring coal mines into operation. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Member of the Mine Managers Association of Australia, Member of the Mineral Industries Consultants Association and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

Geothermal Lindsay Newnham, Consultant Lindsay commenced his professional career in mining with RGC at the My Tyell copper mine, Tasmania in 1966 and was promoted to Chief Geologist for Renison Limited working for the Renison tin mine, Tasmania and tin exploration in eastern Australia (1971 - 1982). He was also Exploration Manager for RGC (1982 - 1988) during which time he played a major role in the discovery of the Henty Goldmine in Tasmania. Lindsay became Manager of New Projects for Spectrum Resources (1988 - 1990), focusing on developing the Anchor Tin Mine in eastern Tasmania. He has operated his consultancy firm, Newnham Exploration and Mining Services, since 1990 and undertook the role of Project Manager at Beaconsfield gold mine. Following this, he commenced undertaking many projects including managing the exploration and discovery of the Avebury Nickel Project for Allegiance Mining NL which was taken over for $850m in early 2008.
Minerals Garry Baglin, Chief Geologist Garry joined Gullewa as Chief Geologist in February. He has been a mineral exploration geologist for over 35 years with international and Australian companies exploring for gold and base metals throughout Australia as well as Vanuatu, Fiji, the Philippines, Namibia, China and on the sea floor. He holds as BSc from the University of New South Wales and a Masters of Minerals & Energy Economics from Macquarie University. He is also a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.
Financial Graham Hurwitz, Chief Financial Officer Graham is a Chartered Accountant. At present, is a Principal of Hurwitz Geller Pty Ltd, a firm of Chartered Accountants. Prior to this he was the Chief Financial Officer at Allegiance Mining NL and a Director of an accountancy practice for over 20 years. He has extensive experience in the areas of taxation, business services, business acquisitions and disposals.
Administration Kristine Starr, Office Manager Joined Allegiance Mining NL in June, 2007 and moved to Gullewa Limited after Allegiance Mining NL’s takeover. Prior to this she was with Ludowici Limited, a public listed company in Australia for over 10 years. She has extensive experience in all facets of administration.
